Choose Your Hollow Type

Your first decision is picking a Hollow type. Each has different combat characteristics.

Best for beginners. Straightforward combat, good progression speed.

LizardGood

Balanced option with decent speed and damage.

Evolution Path

Fishbone (Base Hollow)

2 trait slots

Your starting form. Choose your Hollow type: Gorilla, Lizard, Turtle, or Centipede.

Objectives:

  • • Choose Hollow Type
  • • Consume other Hollows
  • • Collect your first 2 traits
💡 Tip: Focus on consuming Hollows to build up traits. Don't rush evolution — collect good traits first.

Menos

2 trait slots

First evolution. Unlocks the option to become Arrancar (press L), but don't do it yet.

Objectives:

  • • Complete Menos objectives
  • • Destroy objects around the map
  • • Defeat other Hollows
💡 Tip: Resist the temptation to become Menoscar. Push toward Adjuchas instead for better trait slots and deeper evolution.

Adjuchas

3 trait slots

Second evolution. Unlocks Cero and Roar abilities. Third trait slot opens up build diversity.

Objectives:

  • • Earn progression points
  • • Defeat Quincy and Shinigami enemies
  • • Do NOT fight Arrancars (no progress)
💡 Tip: Quincy and Shinigami give progression points. Arrancars do not. Focus on farming the right enemies.

Vasto Lorde

4 trait slots

Third evolution. Four trait slots for maximum build diversity. Gateway to Arrancar.

Objectives:

  • • Continue earning progression points
  • • Collect your 4th trait
  • • Prepare for mask removal
💡 Tip: This is the best stage to optimize your traits before evolving to Arrancar. Take your time.

Arrancar

4 trait slots

Final form. Removes your mask, unlocks weapon combat, and opens the path to Resurreccion.

Objectives:

  • • Remove mask at Vasto Lorde stage
  • • Choose weapon route
  • • Meditate for Resurreccion
  • • Win Resurreccion Fight
💡 Tip: Arrancar combines Hollow evolution with weapon-based combat. Resurreccion is your ultimate transformation.

Best Practices

  • • Don\'t rush evolution — collect good traits before advancing stages
  • • Skip Menoscar — it\'s a faster branch but blocks deeper evolution to Adjuchas/Vasto Lorde
  • • Farm the right enemies — Quincy and Shinigami give progression points; Arrancars do not
  • • Optimize traits at Vasto Lorde — you have 4 slots, use them wisely before Arrancar
  • • Iron Skin is top tier — prioritize this trait if you find it

Gorilla is widely recommended as the best Hollow type for beginners. It has straightforward combat and good progression speed. Lizard and Centipede are also viable, while Turtle is more defensive.

Do not evolve to Menoscar immediately. Menoscar is a faster branch but stops deeper evolution. Stay as Menos and push toward Adjuchas for better long-term progression and more trait slots.

Base Hollow: 2 trait slots. Menos: 2 slots. Adjuchas: 3 slots. Vasto Lorde: 4 slots. More slots mean more build diversity.

Reach Vasto Lorde stage, then remove your mask. After becoming Arrancar, meditate to trigger the Resurreccion fight. Win the fight against your original Hollow type to unlock Resurreccion.

Iron Skin is widely considered the best Hollow trait. Other strong options depend on your build — focus on traits that complement your playstyle and evolution path.
